About Dr. Dong Guirong
Dr. Dong Guirong is a Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine professor.
He is also a tenured professor at Yueyang Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
He is the successor of Zhang Jin’s “Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion” and the third-generation successor of “Dong’s acupuncture and moxibustion.”Dr. Dong is also the lead expert in the National Acupuncture Department, the lead expert in the National Acupuncture and Moxibustion Medical Center in East China, a mentor to national Chinese medicine experts, a Mentor at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and a recognized for various outstanding mentorships.
In 1993, Dr. Dong had many outstanding contributions to the Health Department. He is a well-recognized practitioner in Heilongjiang Province. He is the executive director of the China Association for Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the Vice Chairman of the World Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and Moxibustion Inheritance Committee, the former chairman of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Branch of the Chinese Acupuncture Association, the vice chairman of the National Acupuncture Technology Standardization Committee, and the vice chairman of the World Acupuncture Federation Expert Committee. President of Heilongjiang Acupuncture Society, National TCM Stroke Medical Center director, and recognized as a visiting professor of Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Canada. He participated in more than 16 National scientific research projects, won 5 awards, obtained 5 patents, published more than 180 academic papers, and edited more than 12 books (including “Acupuncture and Moxibustion Law,” “Dongguirong Acupuncture and Moxibustion Academic Experience Collection,” and “Acupuncture and Moxibustion Treatment of Stroke”)
Dr. Dong presented several theories, including “Acupoint sensitivity and sensitization,” “meridians connecting the brain,” “regulating the mind for disease,” ” Tendon and muscle treatment,” and “zang-fu, yin-yang, Qi-blood analysis.” Created the “Dong Style scalp acupuncture,” “Yin-Yang balance needle technique,” “Utilizing Du Channel for Spinal adjustment needle technique,” “Dong Style Tonification and Sedation Needle Technique,” and 15 other acupuncture needle techniques. He suggested “Yin-yang balance with priority on Qi-blood, the foundation with Ren-Du channel, and reproductive treatment” needle techniques.
Dr. Dong is an expert in treating complicated diseases and conditions including but not limited to stroke, facial paralysis, multiple system atrophy, dystonia, insomnia, pain, pruritis, obesity, dysmenorrhea and menopausal syndrome, gray hair, and baldness.
